8, 20 - Grease cap,
9 - Brake drum,
10 - Brake cylinder,
11 - Brake shield,
12 - Dust cover,
13 - Oil seal,
14 - Inner bearing,
15 - Wheel hub and brake disc,
16 - Outer bearing,
18 - Nut,
21, 23 - Retainer,
22 - Bushing,
24 - Front upper arm,
25 - Front shock absorber,
26 - Front lower shock absorber.
A) Remove the brake cylinder and hang it, then remove the brake shield.
Note: Be careful not to damage the brake pipes and hoses.
2. Remove the wheel hub and brake disc.
A) Remove the grease cap, cotter pin, lock cap and nut.
b) Remove the hub with disc along with the outer bearing and washer.
Note: Do not drop the bearing.
3. Remove the inner bearing and seal.
A) Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver and remove the inner bearing from the hub.
Checking the front wheel hub
1. When assessing the condition of bearings: the working surfaces of the outer rings and rollers should not have visible traces of scratches, scoring, cracks, tint colors. The rollers must rotate freely in the cage.
2. If necessary, replace the outer ring.
A) Remove the outer ring as shown in the figure.
b) Using the special tool, insert the new outer race into the bearing.
Front wheel hub assembly
1. Pack bearings with grease.
2. Insert the grease cap as shown.
3. Install the inner bearing and oil seal into the hub and pack the oil seal with grease.
4. Mount hub onto spindle, insert outer bearing and washer.
5. Adjust preload.
A) Install and tighten the nut.
- Tightening torque - 34 Nm
b) Turn the hub right and left two or three times to seat the bearing.
V) Loosen the nut until it can be turned by hand.
G) Use a spring strain gauge to measure the rotational friction of the stuffing box.
d) Adjust the preload by tightening the nut.
Preload (during rotation):
- Additional friction during rotation - 0.6-1.8 kg.
e) Check for axial play in the bearings.
- Axial play - 0.05 mm
6. Install retaining cap, cotter pin and grease cap.
7. Establish a brake board on a rotary fist.
- Tightening torque - 147 Nm
8. Install the brake cylinder on the brake shield.
- Tightening torque - 39 Nm
