Removal and disassembly
1. Remove the brake cylinder and brake shield.
Front wheel hub and steering knuckle (DYNA 100).
1 - Seal,
2, 4 - Bearing,
3 - Front wheel hub,
5, 17 - Washer,
6 - Adjusting nut,
7, 19 - Locking cap,
8, 20 - Cap for grease,
9 - Brake drum,
10 - Brake cylinder,
11 - Brake shield,
12 - Dust cover,
13 - Seal,
14 - Inner bearing,
15 - Wheel hub and brake disc,
16 - Outer bearing,
18 - Nut,
21, 23 - Retainer,
22 - Bushing,
24 - Front upper arm,
25 - Front shock absorber,
26 - Front lower shock absorber.
a) Remove the brake cylinder and hang it up, then remove the brake shield.
Note: Do not damage the brake pipes and hoses.

2. Remove the wheel hub and brake disc.
a) Remove the grease cap, cotter pin, lock cap and nut.
b) Remove the hub with the disc together with the outer bearing and washer.
Note: Do not drop the bearing.
3. Remove the inner bearing and oil seal.
a) Remove the seal with a screwdriver and remove the inner bearing from the hub.
Checking the front wheel hub
1. When assessing the condition of bearings: the working surfaces of the outer rings and rollers should not have visible traces of scratches, scuffs, cracks, or tarnish. The rollers should rotate freely in the separator.
2. If necessary, replace the outer ring.
a) Remove the outer ring as shown in the figure.

b) Using a special tool, insert a new outer ring into the bearing.

Assembling the front wheel hub
1. Pack the bearings with grease.

2. Insert the grease cap as shown in the figure.

3. Install the inner bearing and seal into the hub and pack the seal with grease.
4. Install the hub onto the spindle, insert the outer bearing and washer.

5. Adjust the preload.
a) Install and tighten the nut.
- Tightening torque - 34 Nm
b) Turn the hub right and left two or three times to seat the bearing.
c) Loosen the nut until it can be turned by hand.
d) Using a spring strain gauge, measure the friction of the seal during rotation.

d) Adjust the preload by tightening the nut.
Preload (when rotating):
- Additional friction during rotation - 0.6-1.8 kg.
e) Check for axial play in the bearings.
- Axial clearance - 0.05 mm

6. Install the locking cap, cotter pin and grease cap.
7. Install the brake shield onto the steering knuckle.
- Tightening torque - 147 Nm
8. Install the brake cylinder onto the brake shield.
- Tightening torque - 39 Nm
