Removing the hub
1. Remove the front wheel and brake caliper by hanging it with a rope.
Note: Be careful not to damage the brake pipes and hoses.
2. Remove the grease cap, cotter pin, retaining cap and washer.
3. Remove a brake drum or a disk with a nave.
A) Pull the brake drum or disc towards you and remove the outer bearing.
b) Remove the brake drum or disc.
4. Remove the boot from the hub and the inner bearing.
Checking the front wheel hub
1. When assessing the condition of bearings: the working surfaces of the outer rings and rollers should not have visible traces of scratches, scoring, cracks, tint colors. The rollers must rotate freely in the cage.
2. If necessary, replace the outer ring.
A) Remove the outer ring as shown in the figure.
b) Using the special tool, insert the new outer race into the bearing.
3. Replace hub bolts.
A) Install the brake drum on the wheel and unscrew the bolts.
b) Using a punch and hammer, knock out the hub bolts.
V) Using a punch and hammer, install new bolts.

Front wheel hub assembly
1. To lubricate the bearings, remove the old grease and fill the space between the rollers and the cage with the required amount of grease evenly over the entire circumference.
2. Insert the grease cap as shown.
3. Install the inner bearing and oil seal into the hub and pack the oil seal with grease.
4. Install the gland.
A) Using the special tool, press the oil seal into the hub so that the surface of the oil seal is flush with the surface of the hub.
b) Apply grease to the edges of the seal.
5. Install the hub on the spindle and insert the outer bearing.
6. Adjust preload.
A) Install the washer and tighten the nut.
- Tightening torque - 27 Nm
b) Turn the hub right and left two or three times to seat the bearing.
V) Tighten the nut again.
- Tightening torque - 27 Nm
V) Loosen the nut.
G) Turn the nut clockwise by hand and use a spring strain gauge to measure the friction of the stuffing box as it rotates.
- Front wheel bearing preload (elementary) - 4.9 -18.6 N
d) Check for end play.
- Axial play - 0.05 mm or less
7. Install lock cap, cotter pin, grease cap.
