Removing the hub
1. Remove the front wheel and brake caliper by hanging it on a rope.
Note: Do not damage the brake pipes and hoses.

2. Remove the grease cap, cotter pin, lock cap and washer.
3. Remove the brake drum or disc with the hub.
a) Pull the brake drum or disc towards you and remove the outer bearing.
b) Remove the brake drum or disc.
4. Remove the boot from the hub and the inner bearing.

Checking the front wheel hub
1. When assessing the condition of bearings: the working surfaces of the outer rings and rollers should not have visible traces of scratches, scuffs, cracks, or tarnish. The rollers should rotate freely in the separator.
2. If necessary, replace the outer ring.
a) Remove the outer ring as shown in the figure.

b) Using a special tool, insert a new outer ring into the bearing.

3. Replace the hub bolts.
a) Install the brake drum on the wheel and unscrew the bolts.

b) Using a punch and hammer, knock out the hub bolts.

c) Using a punch and hammer, install new bolts.
Front wheel hub (DYNA 150).
1 - Dust cover,
2 - Brake caliper,
3 - Seal,
4 - Inner bearing,
5 - Front wheel hub and brake disc,
6 - Outer bearing,
7 - Washer,
8 - Nut,
9 - Locking cap,
10 - Cap for grease.

d) Tighten and secure the new nuts.

Assembling the front wheel hub
1. To lubricate the bearings, remove the old grease and fill the space between the rollers and the separator with the required amount of grease evenly around the entire circumference.
2. Insert the grease cap as shown in the figure.

3. Install the inner bearing and seal into the hub and pack the seal with grease.
4. Install the oil seal.
a) Using a special tool, press the seal into the hub so that the seal surface is flush with the hub surface.
b) Apply grease to the edges of the seal.
5. Install the hub onto the spindle and insert the outer bearing.

6. Adjust the preload.
a) Install the washer and tighten the nut.
- Tightening torque - 27 Nm

b) Turn the hub right and left two or three times to seat the bearing.
c) Tighten the nut again.
- Tightening torque - 27 Nm
c) Loosen the nut.
d) Turn the nut clockwise by hand and use a spring strain gauge to measure the friction of the seal during rotation.
- Front wheel bearing preload (initial) - 4.9 -18.6 N

d) Check for axial play.
- Axial clearance - 0.05 mm or less
7. Install the locking cap, cotter pin, grease cap.
8. Install the brake caliper.
- Tightening torque - 127 Nm
9. Install the front wheel.
