Checking and changing the lubricant
1. Front wheel bearings should be checked by rocking the wheel each time the front end is lifted.
2. If play is detected when swinging in a vertical plane, it is necessary to disassemble the assembly and check the condition of the bearings.
3. Remove the wheel.
4. Remove the caliper, move aside and fix.
5. Remove the hub lock (see subsection 7.4.3.4).
6. Loosen the outer nut and loosen.
7. Remove the washer, unscrew the inner nut.
8. Remove thrust washer.
9. Pull the hub towards you and back, remove the outer bearing.
10. Remove the hub.
11. Take out the seal.
12. Remove the inner bearing.
13. Thoroughly wash the hub and bearings with solvent and dry.
14. Inspect bearings and outer races. If damage is found, replace the bearing by knocking out the cage with a brass beard and pressing in a new one.
15. Fill the bearing with refractory grease.
16. Lubricate the hub journals, the inner surfaces of the bearing races, the oil seals and the oil seal bore with a thin layer.
17. Put grease into the hub cavity between the outer races, forming a bead of grease along the edges of the cages with your finger.
18. Install the inner bearing into the hub and grease the end face of the bearing.
19. Press the oil seal flush with the surface of the hub.
Adjustment
1. Install the hub and outer bearing.
2. Put on the washer and tighten the inner nut with a torque of 51 Nm while turning the hub.
3. Loosen the nut and tighten again to 4.8 Nm while turning the hub. Make sure there is no play and the wheel spins freely.
4. Put on the lock washer and tighten the outer nut to 56 Nm. Check the play, if there is play, retighten the inner nut. Bend the lock tabs of the washer in opposite directions. 5. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order. Lightly lubricate the hub lock assembly with lithol (excess lubrication is not allowed).
