Disassembling the hub
1. Remove the rear wheel and axle shaft.
2. Remove the bearing lock nut.
a) Remove the two bolts from the bearing lock nut.
b) Using a puller, remove the lock nut and take out the lock nut washer.
3. Remove the hub from the rear axle housing.
4. Using a puller, remove the oil seal from the hub, then remove the bearing.
Checking and repairing the hub

- Tightening torque of hub nuts: 123 Nm
Hub assembly
1. Pack the bearing with grease.
2. Apply grease inside the hub as shown in the figure.

3. Install the inner bearing and seal.
a) Install the inner bearing into the hub.
b) Press the new seal into the hub.
c) Before assembling the hub, apply grease to the lip of the oil seal.
4. Install the hub onto the rear axle housing and insert the outer bearing.
5. Adjust the preload.
a) Install the bearing lock nut.
b) Tighten the bearing lock nut with a torque wrench.
- Tightening torque - 58 Nm

b) Turn the hub right and left two or three times to seat the bearing.
d) Tighten the lock nut again with a torque wrench.
- Tightening torque - 58 Nm
d) Loosen the nut so that it can be turned by hand.
e) Using a torque wrench, tighten the bearing lock nut as tight as you can.
g) Using a strain gauge, measure the preload.
- Bearing preload - 4 - 32 N

If the preload does not meet the technical specifications, then repeat the above operations again.
h) Align the mark on the bearing lock nut with one of the marks on the rear axle housing and tighten the bolts at right angles to the lock nut.

k) Measure the distance between the upper surface of the rear axle housing and the bearing lock nut.
- Permissible distance: 0.2- 0.9 mm
If the distance is not correct, repeat the hub installation procedure.

5 - Outer bearing,
6 - Outer ring of the outer bearing,
7 - Hub,
8 - Brake drum,
9 - Oil deflector,
10 - Outer ring of the inner bearing,
11 - Inner bearing,
12 - Seal.

l) Check the hub travel and axial clearance.
6. Install the axle shaft and wheel. Lower the car and remove the jack.
