Disassembling the rear wheel hub
1. Remove the wheel and axle shaft.
2. Remove the bearing lock nut.
a) Remove the two screws from the bearing lock nut and remove the lock nut washer.
b) Using a puller, remove the bearing lock nut.

3. Using a puller, remove the hub.

4. Remove the oil seal and inner bearing.
Checking and repairing the rear wheel hub
1. Check the rear axle housing for damage and cracks using a magnetic flaw detector.
2. Replace the outer bearing ring.
a) Using a hammer and punch, knock out the outer ring.

b) Using a tool head, press in a new outer ring.
Rear wheel hub with standard diameter brake drums (Dyna 150 Dual Tires).
1 - Lock nut washer,
2 - Lock nut,
3 - Outer bearing,
4 - Outer ring of the outer bearing,
5 - Brake drum and hub,
6 - Outer ring of the inner bearing,
7 - Inner bearing,
8 - Seal,
9 - Nut,
10 - Brake drum oil deflector,
11 - Brake drum,
12 - Hub,
13 - Hub bolt,
14 - Lock bolt,
15 - Hub nut.

3. Replace the hub bolts.
a) Chisel the bolt and unscrew the nut.

b) Using a press, remove the hub bolts.

c) Using a press, install new bolts, tighten the nuts and caulk the bolts
- Tightening torque - 221 Nm
Assembling the rear wheel hub
1. Pack the bearing with grease.

2. Apply grease inside the hub as shown in the figure.

3. Install the inner bearing and seal.
a) Install the inner bearing into the hub.
b) Press the new seal into the hub.
c) Before assembling the hub, apply grease to the lip of the oil seal.
4. Install the hub onto the rear axle housing and insert the outer bearing.
5. Adjust the preload.
a) Install the bearing lock nut into the rear axle housing and tighten it.
- Tightening torque - 58 Nm
b) Turn the hub right and left two or three times to seat the bearing.
d) Tighten the lock nut again.
- Tightening torque - 58 Nm
Note: Do not move the drum.

d) Turn the bearing lock nut in the direction of loosening by 30°.

e) Install the lock nut washer and check if the screw holes match. If they do not match, turn the nut so that the holes match.
g) Remove the lock nut washer.

c) Using a strain gauge, measure the preload.
- Bearing preload (initial) - 11 - 32 N

k) Check for axial play.
- Axial clearance - 0.1 mm or less
7. Install the lock nut washer and tighten the screws.
- Tightening torque - 5.4 Nm
8. Install the wheel.
- Tightening torque - 386 Nm
