2. Drain the coolant.
3. Disconnect a reception pipe of system of release.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable with bracket.
5. Disconnect the vacuum tubes.
6. Disconnect the wiring harness.
7. Remove the vacuum pump head cover (see section "Checking and adjusting thermal clearances in valves").
8. Remove the timing belt (see section "timing belt").
9. Remove the camshaft sprocket (see section "timing belt").
10. Remove the coolant outlet pipe.
A) Disconnect the radiator inlet hose, coolant bypass hose, heater hose.
b) Turn away a nut and a bolt of fastening.
V) Remove the 2 nuts and bolt and remove the coolant outlet pipe.
11. Remove the tube of the exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR).
A) Loosen the nipple nut.
b) Remove the 2 nuts and remove the EGR pipe.
12. Disconnect the coolant bypass hose and coolant hose.
13. Disconnect the coolant pipe by first removing the heater hose and unscrewing the nut.
14. Disconnect the fuel hose by undoing the 2 clips.
15. Disconnect the high pressure fuel lines.
16. Disconnect the drain tube.
17. Disconnect the fuel hose by undoing the 2 clips.
18. Remove the dipstick guide,
19. Remove the wiring harness by disconnecting the connectors.
20. Remove the cylinder head.
A) Gradually unscrew the 18 cylinder head bolts in several stages in the sequence shown in the figure.
Warning: Warping or cracking of the cylinder head may occur if the bolts are removed in the correct order.
b) Remove 18 plate washers.
V) Lift the cylinder head off the guide pins on the cylinder block and place it on a workbench on blocks of wood.
Note:
- - If there is difficulty in lifting the cylinder head, use the lever between the coolant outlet and the alternator bracket.
- - Be careful not to damage the adjacent surfaces of the cylinder head and cylinder block.
21. Remove the camshaft.
A) Gradually, over several passes (at least three), loosen and remove the camshaft bearing cap bolts as shown.
Warning: loosen the camshaft bearing cap bolts gradually, without jerking.
b) Remove bearing caps and camshaft.
