Note: Ceramic glow plugs are installed on this engine. Do not remove spark plugs unnecessarily to avoid damaging them.
1. Drain the coolant.
2. Remove the intake duct (see above).
3. Removing the bracket and accelerator lever
A) Disconnect the accelerator lever from the injection pump.
b) Remove the three mounting bolts and remove the bracket.
4. Remove high pressure fuel pipes (see below).
5. Turn away a nut of fastening of a tube of an oil dipstick, take out a tube and a sealing ring.
6. Removing the intake manifold.
A) Disconnect:
- Sensor connectors on the head;
- Two height compensator hoses (if installed).
b) Unscrew 7 manifold mounting nuts, remove manifold and 4 gaskets.
Hoses location: 1 - vacuum pump, 2 - boost pressure sensor, 3 - gas filter, 4 - load compensation drive valve, 5 - load compensation drive, 6 - boost corrector, 7 - height compensator valve, 8 - overflow fitting.
7. Turn away 2 nuts of fastening and remove a water branch pipe.
8. Disconnect the fuel return line, unscrew the 4 nuts securing the drain tube to the injectors. Remove the drain tube and 4 sealing washers.
9. Turn out fuel atomizers. Label the injectors by cylinder number.
10. Turn away a bolt and two nuts of fastening of an inlet pipe of a heater, remove a pipe and a lining.
11. Remove the vacuum hose and tube assembly.
12. Remove the turbocharger and intake manifold (see section "Turbocharger")
13. Turn away two bolts and a nut of fastening of an exhaust pipe of a heater, remove a pipe and a lining.
14. Remove the timing belt and gears.
15. Remove the rear timing belt cover.
16. In several steps and in the order shown in the figure, unscrew the bolts securing the camshaft bearing caps, remove the caps and the camshaft.
17. Turn away 18 bolts of fastening of a head in the order specified in drawing.
Lift the block head off the cylinder block pins and place on the wood blocks.
Note: if it is difficult to remove the head, pry the block head with a screwdriver.
Attention: be careful not to damage the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and cylinder head.
