a) Warm up the transmission fluid to operating temperature (50-80°C).
b) Unscrew the service plug of the gearbox housing and connect a pressure gauge in its place. Apply the parking brake and place chocks under the wheels.
Caution: Perform the check with two people - one person should watch the wheels or wheel stops and the other should perform the check.

2. Measure the pressure.
a) Disconnect the automatic transmission electronic control unit connector.
b) Start the engine.
c) Apply battery voltage to the terminals "25" (+) -"24" (-) (solenoid valve No.2) and "26" (+) - "24" (-) (solenoid valve #1). Check the pressure as shown in table "Line Pressure (A540N before 1994.)".
Note: Perform the test on the "L" range.
