Note:
- - carry out the check at the normal operating temperature of the working fluid (50-80°C)
- - perform three tests and then determine the average delay time for first gear engagement.
- - at least one minute must pass between checks.
1. Measure the gear engagement delay time:
a) Apply the parking brake.
b) Start the engine and check the idle speed.
c) Move the selector from position "N" to "D" and measure the time until the gear is engaged.
- Delay time - no more than 1.2 sec
d) Move the selector from position "N" to "R" and measure the time until the gear is engaged.
- Delay time - no more than 1.5 sec
2. Analysis of the inspection results.
a) If the switching time "N→D" is greater than required, then;
- too low pressure in the main line,
- wear of the forward clutch,
- freewheel clutch #2 and reduction clutch are faulty (increasing) planetary gear set.
b) If the switching time "N→R" is longer than required, then:
- too low pressure in the main line,
- wear of the reverse clutch,
- wear of the first gear and reverse gear brakes,
- the downshift clutch is faulty (increasing) planetary gear set.
