Attention: It is recommended to preliminarily apply varnish to any suitable sheet for testing, for example, on the fender from an old car.
Dry and wipe the part to be coated. If possible, blow off with compressed air.
Moisten the floor with water to eliminate dust.
Surfaces lying outside the area to be varnished should be wiped with a silicone remover. Good adhesion of the varnish to the surface is ensured by rubbing it with a silicone-free polished paste.
Shake the aerosol package with varnish for 3-5 minutes before use. Otherwise, the formation of lacquer smudges is possible.
When using varnish «metallic» after shaking, sprinkle a small amount of it on the cardboard to remove varnish clots accumulated in the packing nozzle.
Large surfaces, both horizontally and vertically, are sprayed with a cross movement of the spray gun. In this case, the movement of the atomizer begins and ends outside the surface, and the atomizer makes oscillatory movements in the order shown in Fig. 680.04.
Small areas are painted in a spiral from outside to inside to prevent the formation of mist from the paint.
Move the aerosol can above the surface at a constant speed and at an equal distance from the surface. The distance from the surface should be about 25 cm.
When applying the coating, a smooth transition of the new varnish to the old must be ensured. This is achieved by forming a transition section, formed in at least four passes. In this case, each subsequent pass should move towards the old varnish by about 2-3 cm.
Attention: If the varnish is sprayed from too close a distance or the spray gun is moved too slowly and at a variable speed, varnish smudges will appear, i.e. varnish flows due to its excess in any area. A similar phenomenon takes place if a change in the direction of movement of the atomizer occurs within the surface to be painted.
The coating process should be repeated with solvent evaporation intervals of approximately 5 minutes. as many times as necessary to obtain the required coverage. When varnishing the surface «metallic* do not forget to shake the can between two successive passes.
Caution: When coating «metallic» it is especially difficult to achieve a smooth transition of the new varnish into the old one. Pigmentation is more successful if the last pass is carried out from a distance of not 25 cm from the surface to be coated, but 30 cm. It should be borne in mind that slow movements of the jet lead to a darker coating, faster movements to a lighter one.
When coated «metallic» priming «metallic» cover with colorless varnish. Only after that the coating acquires its luster. The coating is made in three or four layers. Moreover, a pause of 1 minute is maintained between the two coatings. Before applying the first layer, the primer layer is aged for at least 30 minutes. A layer of colorless varnish should overlap the primer to the width of the palm. First you need to move the layer of protective paper.
Turn the aerosol can upside down, press the head and spray the surface until the paint runs out.
Immediately after painting, remove protective paper covers to ensure that the varnish flows to the border of the old and new coatings.
Let the painted surface dry. The drying process can be accelerated by using a reflector lamp or a powerful photo lamp.
Attention: Do not use a heated fan, because the flow of its air can cause small parts to fall on the drying surface.
48 hours after the surface has dried, remove traces of sprayed paint on the boundary surfaces, polish with paste and a cotton swab. Polishing should only be done in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
