Carrying out work to straighten deformed body elements and restore its paintwork requires knowledge of materials and certain experience. Such experience is acquired, as a rule, over the years. Therefore, only work related to the elimination of minor body defects is considered here.
To restore the paintwork of the body, a varnish of the same shade as the main varnish is required, since even a slight difference in shades is striking. The number of the corresponding paintwork is indicated by the manufacturer in the designation on the nameplate located in the engine compartment on the front shield. The coverage number consists of three digits. The bottom line starts with the coverage number.
If, nevertheless, the difference in shades of the original and repair coatings is noticeable, then this is a consequence of the aging of the paintwork, exposure to ultraviolet sunlight, a sharp temperature drop, weather conditions and chemical exposure from, for example, industrial gas emissions.
Surface damage to the body can also be the result of improper use of paint care products.
Coating «metallic» consists of two layers: from soil «metallic» and colorless top coat. During the coating process, the clear varnish is sprayed onto the wet primer varnish. Danger of obtaining a coating of different shades during coating «metallic» especially large, because here the difference in shades can be caused by different viscosities of the original and repair varnish.
