Fig. 4.2. Front suspension components
Thanks to the optimal arrangement of components, the front suspension provides a smooth and comfortable ride, excellent handling and cross-country ability.
Maintenance recommendation
Before disposing of the shock absorber, the low pressure gas should be released from it for safety reasons.
Shock absorber
Fig. 4.3. Front suspension shock absorber strut
To ensure directional stability and a smooth ride, the vehicle is equipped with gas-filled (N₂) low-pressure shock absorbers with a valve with a linear characteristic.
Linear characteristic valve device
Fig. 4.4. Design of a valve with a linear characteristic
A linear valve consists of the following parts: C-valve, shut-off valve and check valve. These valves form a multi-layer structure with passage holes. At low piston speed, the liquid passes through the gaps in the valves, creating a damping force.
The use of a valve with a linear characteristic ensures a constant damping force at low piston speeds and, as a result, a smooth ride of the vehicle.
Front wheel axle
Fig. 4.5. Front wheel axle design
The front wheel axle is mounted on a double-row radial thrust ball bearing with low rolling resistance.
The axle is securely fastened with a 12-point lock nut. This lock nut is not reusable.
