Removal
1. Remove the cylinder head cover.

2. Loosen the rocker shaft bolts in the sequence shown.
3. Remove the shaft assembly with the rocker arms, preventing the parts from slipping.

4. Get the barbells out (drawing on the left) and store them in the order they were previously installed (photo on the right).
Examination
1. Check the rocker arms for wear, especially where they contact the rocker arms and valve stems.
2. Check the cleanliness of the rocker arm holes where they touch the rods.
3. Check for cracks, metal galling and wear marks around the rocker shaft hole. Replace worn rocker arms.
4. Check the condition of the rods, the presence of cracks and severe wear on the ends, check the deformation of the rods by touch, rolling them on sheet glass.
Installation
1. Lubricate the lower ends of the rods with engine oil or molybdenum grease and install the rods in their places. The rod should fit into the recess of the pushrod.
2. Lubricate the top ends of the valve stems and rocker arms with molybdenum grease.

3. Install the shafts with rocker arms and covers, screw in the cylinder head cover studs. Tighten the bolts in the specified sequence.
4. Install all removed parts, start the engine and listen to the operation of the valve mechanism.
