Removal
1. Disconnect the battery from ground (make sure you know the radio codes).
2. On carburetor engines, remove the air filter; on injection engines, remove the air intake hose, flow sensor and air filter.
3. Identify and disconnect any hoses and wires that may interfere with removal of the cylinder head cover.

4. Loosen the cylinder head cover bolts, remove the cover and gasket. If the cover does not give in, then move it with hammer blows through a soft spacer, or carefully open the seal with a spatula. It is prohibited to separate the cover by inserting a tool between the separable surfaces.
Installation
1. Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces of the cover and cylinder head, remove traces of oil. Install a new gasket in the cover groove (the gasket does not need to be changed if it has not hardened and there is no damage on it). Replace the cover bolt seals.
2. Carefully install the cover and tighten the bolts.
3. Tighten the cover bolts evenly to the specified torque.
4. Install the remaining parts, start the engine and check for leaks.
