Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Order
Attention! Work is carried out on a cold engine.
Removing
1. Remove the rocker arms and rods.
2. Remove manifolds.
3. Remove drive belts.
4. Remove the power steering pump and set aside without disconnecting the lines.
5. Remove air pump with bracket (see subsection 6.3).
6. Remove the air tube (see fig. 2F engine cylinder head and fig. 3F-E engine cylinder head).
7. Drain the coolant, unscrew the temperature sensor.
8. Remove the A/C compressor (if provided) and take it aside without disconnecting the lines.
9. Loosen the bolts in reverse order (see fig. Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Order). Carefully remove the cylinder head. If the head does not lend itself to removal, then carefully displace it with light hammer blows through a wooden blank.
Installation
1. Clean the split surfaces of the cylinder head and block. Drive the threads of the studs and holes.
2. Check for scoring, chips, gouges and other damage on the split planes of the head and cylinder block. Check the deformation of the head plane. Minor damage can be repaired with a needle file, in case of serious damage, the head or block must be reground.
3. The gasket is made of composite material and installed without sealant.
4. Install the gasket with TOP up.
5. Carefully install the head on the cylinder block without disturbing the position of the gasket. Hand-tighten the cylinder head bolts and tighten the bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown (see fig. Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Order).
6. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order. Fill the cooling system with liquid, add oil and replace the filter. Start the engine, check for leaks. Carry out a ride test of the vehicle.
