An exhaust gas recirculation control valve is installed between the intake and exhaust manifolds. The valve position changes the resistance of the channel connecting the intake and exhaust manifolds. The valve has a single pneumatic drive similar to the pneumatic drive of the additional air supply valve. The drive is also controlled by an electro-pneumatic switching valve, which communicates the pneumatic drive chamber either with the atmosphere or with a vacuum according to signals from the electronic unit.
