Checking balance shafts (KZ series only) [Toyota Land Cruiser J70]

1. Measure the diameter of the shaft bearings.

Bearing:

• no. 1 - 42,000 - 42.02 mm
• no. 2 - 41.000-41.02 mm
• no.3 - 32,000 - 32.02 mm

2. Measure the diameters of the shaft journals. Journal:

• no. 1 - 41.941 -41.960 mm
• no. 2 - 40.931 -41.950 mm
• no.3 — 31.941 -31.950 mm

3. Calculate the bearing clearance

Nominal clearance:

• no. 1 and No.2 - 0.04 - 0.079 mm
• no. 3 0.05 - 0.089 mm

Maximum clearance:

• no. 1 and No.3 - 0.18 mm
• no. 2 - 0.19 mm

If the gap is greater than the permissible value, replace the cylinder block and balance shafts.
