- Replace all rubber cuffs. Repair kits are available and all parts of the repair kit must be used during assembly.
- Disassembly and assembly must be carried out in clean conditions.
- Before installation, place all rubber seals in clean brake fluid.
When ordering a repair kit, please indicate the chassis number and model, as the wheel brake cylinders have been modified. Remove the wheel brake cylinders as follows:
- Remove the brake pads (Chapter 15.3.1).
- Unscrew the brake pipe union nut from the rear side of the brake shield.
- Unscrew the wheel brake cylinder from the brake shield.
Disassembly of the wheel brake cylinder is carried out using Figure 258:

- Remove the dust caps on both sides (1).
- Push both pistons out of the cylinder (2), as well as other internal parts.
- Use your fingers to remove the cuffs (3) with pistons
- Wash all parts in clean brake fluid or alcohol. If the cylinder mirrors are scratched, replace the cylinder. Assembly and installation are carried out in the reverse order. The edges of the cuffs should not bend when moving the pistons. Lubricate the cuffs and inner sides of the dust caps with rubber lubricant.
