Adjusting the longitudinal angle of the wheel pivot axis [Toyota Carina T170]

The caster angle is the rearward tilt of the shock absorber so that a line through the shock absorber intersects the road surface just before the tire touches the ground (see fig. 208). The longitudinal angle of the wheel's turning axis helps to return the steering to the straight-ahead driving position, i.e. correct adjustment of the longitudinal angle of inclination is important for ensuring the vehicle's driving performance.



If the longitudinal angle of the steering axis exceeds the specified value, no adjustments can be made. In this case, check whether the front suspension parts are deformed. The longitudinal angle of inclination can be checked with a suitable measuring device, which is used in accordance with the manufacturer's operating instructions.
