2. Check the battery.
A) Using a hydrometer, check the density of the electrolyte in each battery cell.
- Normal electrolyte density is 1.25-1.29 at 20°C
Add distilled water if necessary. If the electrolyte density is not within specifications after charging the battery, replace the battery.
b) The check is carried out at the end of the movement of the car and no later than 20 minutes after stopping the engine.
Turn on the ignition ("ON") and electricity consumers (headlights, fan, rear fog lights) for 60 seconds to remove the surface charge.
Turn off the ignition ("OFF") and consumers of electricity, measure the voltage between the negative (-) and positive (+) battery terminals.
- Rated voltage (at 20°C) - 12.5-12.9 V
If the voltage is less than the nominal voltage, charge the battery.
3. Use a tester to check that the fuse links are in good condition, making sure that there is conductivity (short circuit) on their findings.
A) Check the strength of the fastening of the battery terminals, the absence of corrosion.
b) Check the integrity of the fuse and fuses.
