Removal

Place the car on a lift.

Unscrew the bolts securing the muffler inlet pipe from the outlet pipe, lower the pipe and hang it from the body using a wire.

Loosen the bolts securing the powertrain mounts and the suspension arm mounts.

Remove the stabilizer together with the rubber supports.

Installation

Before installation, check the condition of the rubber supports. If there are pores or damage, replace the supports.

Cars produced before 4/87: Tighten the clamps of the rubber stabilizer mounts on the bottom of the car with a force of 20 Nm.

(The original can be read on the website: ToyotaMan.ru)

Vehicles from 5/87: Position the rubber stabilizer mounts so that they are next to the color marking. Also, the arrow at the bottom must point forward, in the direction of travel. Tighten the stabilizer mount to the rear wishbone bearing with a torque of 50 Nm.

Check the stabilizer arms. If they have ball joints, check their mobility by hand. They should move easily, but without play.

Cars produced before 4/87. Secure the stabilizer arms with washers to the transverse suspension arm with new self-locking nuts with a force of 20 Nm.

Vehicles from 5/87: Tighten the ball joint nuts to 35 Nm.

Install the exhaust pipe, tightening the fastening nuts with a force of 45 Nm.
