The front suspension has two MacPherson struts. The suspension strut consists of a helical spring and a hydraulic shock absorber located in it. At the top, the rack has a connection with the body, at the bottom - with a steering knuckle. The front wheels are controlled by L-shaped transverse suspension arms connected via replaceable ball joints to the steering knuckles. Wishbone suspension via silent blocks (rubber-metal bushings) rest on the transverse beam of the unit. Cars up to 4/87 do not have a transverse beam. The wishbones in these cars are connected to the body.
The anti-roll bar is mounted on the bottom of the car and is connected to both suspension struts through the rods. It reduces the tilt of the car when driving around corners.
Engine torque is transmitted to the front wheels through two drive shafts. Drive shafts of various lengths have constant velocity joints. Vehicles from 5/87 have a special balance weight on the right drive shaft.
