Connecting the portable diagnostic tool II
Connect the Handheld Diagnostic Tool II to the DLC3 connector.
Start the engine and let it idle.
In the portable diagnostic tool II, select the mode «ACTIVE TEST» («ACTIVE DIAGNOSIS MODE»).
Checking the performance of the electric motor of the actuator of the working cylinders of the brakes
When the relay of the electric motor is on, the sound of the operation of the electric motor of the actuator of the brake working cylinders should be heard.
Turn off the motor relay.
Press and hold the brake pedal for about 15 seconds. Make sure that the brake pedal can no longer be pressed.
With the motor relay on, check that the brake pedal does not vibrate.
Note. It is forbidden to turn on the motor relay continuously for more than 5 s. If necessary, switch on the electric motor several times, the interval between switching on must be at least 20 s.
Turn off the motor relay and release the brake pedal.
Checking the performance of the front right wheel brake
With the brake pedal depressed, perform the following operations.
Note. Do not turn on the solenoid valve in any other way than described below.
Simultaneously turn on the solenoid valves SFRH and SFRR and check that the brake pedal can no longer be depressed.
Note. It is forbidden to turn on the solenoid valve continuously for more than 10 s. If necessary, turn on the solenoid valve several times, the interval between switching on must be at least 20 s.
Simultaneously turn off the solenoid valves SFRH and SFRR and check that the brake pedal can be depressed.
Turn on the motor relay and check that the brake pedal returns to its original position.
Note. It is forbidden to turn on the motor relay continuously for more than 5 s. If necessary, switch on the electric motor several times, the interval between switching on must be at least 20 s.
Turn off the motor relay and release the brake pedal.
Checking the performance of the brakes of other wheels
Carry out the operations described above and check the solenoid valves of the other wheels.
