1. Locate the air cleaner in the engine compartment (refer to the accompanying illustrations in Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).

2. Release the spring clips securing the air cleaner cover (refer to the accompanying illustration). Disconnect all hoses that interfere with the procedure and remove the cover, try to prevent foreign objects from falling inside the air purifier.

3. Remove the filter element and wipe the inner walls of the casing with a clean cloth (refer to the accompanying illustration).
4. Visually assess the condition of the filter element, replace it if it is heavily contaminated. A moderately clogged filter can be blown out with compressed air (through the back surface).
Caution! When using compressed air, always wear safety glasses!
The filter element made of waxed paper cannot be washed with oils or solvents. If a satisfactory result cannot be achieved by purging, replace it.
Caution! To avoid premature wear of internal engine components and flares in the exhaust tract, do not operate the vehicle with the air filter removed!
5. Install the replacement filter element, making sure it is seated correctly in the casing.
6. Replace the cover and secure it with the spring clips.
7. Make sure all intake tract components are tightly and correctly installed.
