Adjusting the handbrake [Toyota Land Cruiser J60]

The handbrake should provide braking on a slope with 5 clicks of travel. Adjustment is necessary if the brake travel is less than 4 or more than 5 clicks.

1. Remove the center section to gain access to the regulator.



2. Loosen the lock nut (top nut), holding the adjusting (lower) nut.

3. Tighten the adjusting nut until the desired brake lever travel is achieved.

4. Tighten the lock nut.

5. Check the travel of the handbrake lever.
