Handbrake cable — replacement [Toyota Land Cruiser J60]

1. Remove the center section to gain access to the regulator.

2. Release the brake lever and loosen the lock nut and adjusting (lower) nut.

3. Remove the cable from the lever.

4. While working under the vehicle, pull the cable out and pass it through the hole in the floor.

5. Remove the cable brackets from the frame.



6. Remove the axle from the crank (indicated by the arrow) and a bracket.



7. Loosen the bracket bolt (indicated by the arrow) on the compensator and remove the cable.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

9. After assembly, adjust the handbrake.
