Raise the rear of the car.
Check the correct laying of the brake cables and the reliability of its fixation in the guides.
Release the brake.
Slowly move the brake to the top position, counting the number of clicks. Lever travel at 200 N (20 kg) should be: for cars with drum brakes 4... 7 clicks; for vehicles with disc brakes 5...8 clicks.
If the predetermined fixation value is not reached, then by adjusting the parking brake, adjust the clearance in the brake pads, as described earlier.
Rear wheel drum brake
Move the brake lever up to the stop, and then release.
Remove brake drum.
Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum and the outer diameter of the brake pads. gap in the brake (difference between outside and inside diameters) should be 0.6 mm.
If the clearance differs from the specified value, check the adjustment of the brake pads, as described in section «Installing the rear brake pads».
Install the brake drums.
Rear wheel disc brake
(only for vehicles with 116/121 hp engine. With.)
Move the brake lever slightly up and loosen again.
Release the lever.
Depress the brake pedal several times to allow the brakes to self-adjust.
Check on both calipers that the brake release lever touches the stop pin. If not, release the cable on the handbrake lever.
Adjustment
Remove handbrake lever console.
Loosen the locknut and adjusting nut until the desired lever travel is reached.
After adjustment, tighten the locknut to 5 Nm.
Install the brake lever console.
