1. To provide access to the lower part of the car, the latter must be installed on two stands with a cross member, or raised with a hoist, or driven into a pit or overpass.
2. Locate the engine pan drain plug.
3. Install the car on a horizontal platform. Warm up the engine, stop and unscrew the oil filler cap on the cylinder head cover.
4. Raise the car and put it on stands.
5. Carefully, trying not to touch the hot parts of the exhaust system, substitute the pan and unscrew the plug.
6. Drain the oil, check for the presence of metal chips and sawdust in the drained oil.
7. After the oil drains, wipe the plug with a clean rag.
8. Wipe the pan near the drain hole and carefully tighten the plug.
9. Place a pan under the oil filter.
10. Remove all tools from under the vehicle and lower the vehicle.
11. Using a special wrench, unscrew the oil filter (indicated by an arrow) (rotate counterclockwise), then unscrew the filter by hand.
12. Thoroughly clean the filter seal seat on the cylinder block.
13. Make sure that the type and dimensions of the new filter fully match the type and dimensions of the used one. Lightly coat the rubber gasket of the new filter with engine oil and screw the filter back into place.
14. Screw on the filter until the gasket contacts the surface of the cylinder block, tighten the filter by turning it 3/4 of a turn.
15. Fill with about 3 liters of oil, after waiting a little, check the oil level. If the level is normal, then wrap the filler cap and tighten by hand. Start the engine so that the oil fills all lubrication channels.
16. With the engine running, check the tightness of the sump plug and filter by following these places for a minute. If a leak occurs, stop the engine and tighten the plug or filter.
17. Stop the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain into the sump. Check the oil level again on the dipstick. If necessary, add oil to the upper mark on the dipstick.
18. On several trips after changing the engine oil, watch for leaks and check the oil level.
