Oil gauge dipstick (2F and 3F-E engines)
Oil gauge dipstick (1) on engines 2F and 3F-E is located on the right side.
Oil gauge dipstick (1ZF-FE engines)
Oil gauge dipstick (indicated by an arrow) on 1ZF-FE engines it is located on the left side.
Checking the oil level is an important preventive measure in maintenance operations. If the oil level constantly drops, the cause is oil leaking through a damaged oil seal, loose connections, or through piston rings or valve guides. If the oil acquires a milky tint or drops of water are observed in the oil, then the tightness of the cylinder head gasket is broken. All this indicates the need for an immediate check of the engine. The condition of the oil should also be checked regularly. Each time you check the oil level, before wiping the dipstick, pinch the dipstick with two fingers and slide it up. If you can see that dirt or small metal particles are stuck between the fingers and the dipstick, then the oil must be changed.
1. Check the oil level with a dipstick that is inserted into the engine oil pan pipe.
2. Check the oil level when the engine is cold and not running, or after about 15 minutes from when it was stopped. If the oil level check is carried out immediately after a trip, some oil will remain in the upper part of the engine and the check results will be erroneous.
3. Remove the dipstick from the tube and wipe it off with a clean cloth or paper towel. Insert the clean dipstick back into the tube and remove it again. Check the oil film level.
4. The oil level must be between the marks L and F on the dipstick. Otherwise add oil (the amount of oil corresponding to the change in level from the L mark to the F mark is about 1l).
5. If the oil level is above the F mark, this will lead to clogging of the candles, oil leakage, or failure of the oil seal.
6. To add oil, unscrew the filler cap (arrow) on the cylinder head cover.
