2. (2L-T) Remove turbocharger (see related section).
3. Remove the timing belt (see related section).
4 (2L-T) Remove injection pump (see related section).
5. Remove nozzles (see related section).
6. Remove the camshaft pulley.
7. Remove the rear timing belt cover by unscrewing the four bolts.
8. Remove the water tube and water tube housing.
A) Disconnect the coolant temperature switch connector.
b) Disconnect the bypass hose from the warm-up regulator on the fuel pump.
V) Remove the three bolts, water tube, water tube housing and gasket.
9. Remove the left engine hanger.
10. Remove the throttle assembly. (If installed)
A) Disconnect the electrical connector and vacuum tubes from the vacuum shutoff valve.
b) Remove the throttle body and gasket.
V) Remove two bolts and wire tie.
11. Remove the gas recirculation valve, tube, valve adapter and check valve assembly (if installed).
A) Remove four nuts, air tube, recirculation valve adapter and two gaskets.
b) Disconnect the connectors from the vacuum shutoff valve and the vacuum control valve.
V) Remove the three bolts and remove the EGR control valve assembly
G) Loosen the two nuts and remove the EGR valve.
12. Remove the intake manifold.
A) Remove the nut and heat insulator of the glow plug resistor.
b) Turn away bolts and nuts, remove an inlet collector and a lining.

13. Remove the exhaust manifold.
A) Remove the four bolts, nut, and heat shield.
Engine 2L-T)
b) Remove four bolts, four nuts, exhaust manifold and gasket.
14. Remove the right engine hanger.
15. Remove the cylinder head cover and gasket by removing eight bolts and two nuts.
16. Remove the cylinder head and) Loosen and remove the eighteen cylinder head bolts in several stages in the sequence shown in the figure.
Caution: Loosening the bolts in the wrong sequence can lead to deformation and cracking.
b) Lift the block head off the cylinder block pins and place on the wood blocks.
Note: if it is difficult to remove the head, place a screwdriver between the head and the block in the place indicated in the figure and disconnect them.
Attention: be careful not to damage the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and cylinder head.
