Note: The sealant layer around the bolt holes should be thin. The oil pump should be installed within the time specified in the sealant application instructions.
Caution: When installing the oil pump, do not damage the oil seal or drop the driven gear of the oil pump.

2. Install the pump and tighten the 9 mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 32 Nm
3. Install the generator adjustment bar.
- Tightening torque - 32 Nm
4. Install the oil separator
a) Remove any remaining old sealant; being careful not to allow oil to come into contact with the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and oil separator.
Using solvent, clean both contact surfaces.
Note: Do not use solvent that will damage painted surfaces.
b) Apply sealant to the oil separator as shown in the figure.
Note:
- - Apply a layer of sealant 4-5 mm thick.
- - Assembly must be completed within five minutes of applying the sealant. Otherwise, the sealant must be removed and then reapplied.

c) Install the oil separator, tighten the mounting bolts evenly in several passes.
- Tightening torque - 8 Nm
5. Install the oil receiver with a new gasket.
Tightening torque:
- nuts - 14 Nm
- bolts - 19 Nm
6. Install the oil pan.
a) Remove any remaining old sealant; being careful not to allow oil to come into contact with the contact surfaces of the oil pan and oil separator.
Using solvent, clean both contact surfaces.
Caution: Do not use solvent that will damage painted surfaces.
b) Apply sealant to the oil pan as shown in the figure.
Note:
- - Apply a layer of sealant 4-5 mm thick.
- - Assembly must be completed within five minutes of applying the sealant. Otherwise, the sealant must be removed and then reapplied.

c) Install the oil pan by tightening the mounting bolts and nuts in several passes.
- Tightening torque - 8 Nm
7. (4WD model) Install a stiffener.
- Tightening torque - 38 Nm
8. (2WD model) Install the exhaust downpipe mounting brackets.
Tightening torque:
- rear bracket - 63 Nm
- front bracket - 79 Nm
9. Install the crankshaft timing pulley.
10. Install the oil dipstick.
11. Install the timing belt.
12. Fill the system with oil.
13. Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
14. Check the oil level.
