2. The oil seal can be removed without dismantling the oil pan or removing the oil seal holder. However, this method is not recommended, since the seal is installed in the holder with a large interference, and therefore the seal can be damaged either in the holder itself or during installation. If you still want to try, then use a screwdriver to remove the old oil seal.
3. Lubricate the crankshaft journal and lip of the new oil seal with multipurpose grease and carefully install the oil seal in place. The seal lip is very hard, so when installing on the crankshaft, push the seal carefully using a smooth object. Press the seal into place with light blows. Do not apply sharp blows, otherwise the gland may be damaged.
4. It is recommended to use the method described below. However, this will require opening the seal at the back of the sump and removing the gland retainer.
5. Unscrew the two extreme rear bolts of the pallet, which are screwed into the holder. Open the seal between the back of the sump and the gland holder with a spatula.
6. Turn away bolts, remove the holder and remove the remnants of the gasket. Remove the seal from the pallet split plane.
Attention! Cover the open part of the pallet with a clean rag so that the remains of the seal do not get in during the fastening of the pallet during assembly.
7. Having placed the holder with the gland on two wooden blocks, knock out the gland with a screwdriver from the back.
8. Press a new oil seal into the holder with hammer blows through a wooden spacer.
9. Lubricate the sealing lips of the new oil seal and the crankshaft journal with multipurpose grease. Install a new oil seal holder gasket on the cylinder block. Apply a bead of RTV sealant to the exposed part of the oil pan, especially the area adjacent to the cylinder block.
10. Carefully put the oil seal with holder on the crankshaft journal.
11. Tighten the holder bolts to the specified torque.
12. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
