Removing
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground. Raise the car and put it on stands. Remove transmission (checkpoint).
2. Remove the clutch.
3. Mark the position of the flywheel relative to the crankshaft.
4. Loosen the flywheel bolts (torque converter drive disc). Secure the flywheel against turning by resting a screwdriver on the ring gear.
5. Carefully remove the flywheel (torque converter drive plate). Some vehicles with automatic transmission have spacer washers on both sides of the drive disc and store with the disc.
Installation
1. Clean the flywheel, check the surface for gouges, rivet gouges, burn marks and scratches. Minor damage can be repaired by sanding. Check the deformation of the flywheel plane.
2. Clean and check the condition of the flywheel and crankshaft connector plane. If it is found that the crankshaft rear oil seal is leaking, then before installing the flywheel (driving disk) replace the seal.
3. Install flywheel (torque converter drive plate) to the crankshaft Align the marks made during removal. Lubricate the threads with a locking compound before tightening the bolts.
4. Fix the flywheel with a screwdriver behind the ring gear and tighten the fastening bolts with the specified torque. Tighten diametrically opposed bolts. Complete the final tightening in three or four steps.
5. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
