Master brake cylinder. 1 - brake cylinder body, 2 - ring seal, 3 - nipple, 4 - retaining ring, 5 - boot, 6 - hose, 7 - clamp, 8 - cover, 9 - filter, 10 - reservoir, 11 - spring, 12 - piston No.2, 13 - spring, 14 - piston No.1, 15 - retaining ring, 16 - boot, 17 - gasket, 18 - adapter, 19 - lock bolt, 20 - gasket, 21 - gasket.


Removal



1. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector.

2. Using a syringe, pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir.

Note: Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with painted surfaces of the car body. If it does come into contact with the car, wash it off immediately.

3. Disconnect the brake pipes from the master cylinder.

4. Remove the mounting nuts, then disconnect the master cylinder, clamp and gasket from the brake booster.

Installation



1. Before installing the brake master cylinder, check and, if necessary, adjust the length of the brake booster pushrod (see the section "Brake booster").

2. Install the master cylinder with a new gasket and clamp onto the brake booster, secure with nuts.



Tightening torque - 13 Nm

3. Connect the brake pipes and temporarily tighten the union nuts by hand.

4. Finally tighten the fitting nuts.

Tightening torque - 15 Nm

5. Connect the brake fluid level sensor connector to the reservoir.

6. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid and bleed the system.

7. Check the brake system for brake fluid leaks.

8. Check and adjust the position and travel of the brake pedal.
