a) Set the gear shift lever to neutral position.

b) Warm up the engine to operating temperature.

c) Check:
  • is an air purifier installed?,
  • is all additional equipment disabled?.
  • are all vacuum lines connected correctly?,
  • thermal valve clearance,
  • fuel injection advance angle.

2. Connect the tachometer.

3. Adjust the idle speed.

a) Check for contact between the lever and the idle speed adjusting screw when the accelerator pedal is released.

If this condition is not met, adjust the accelerator lever transmission.

b) Start the engine.

c) Check the idle speed.

Idle speed (with an accuracy of ±50 rpm):

2L Engine:
  • with manual transmission - 700 rpm
  • with automatic transmission - 800 rpm
  • Engine 2L-T - 750 rpm
  • Engine 3L and KZ - 700 rpm

d) Adjusting the idle speed.

- Disconnect the accelerator linkage.

- Loosen the adjusting screw lock nut.

- Adjust the idle speed by turning the adjusting screw.

- Tighten the lock nut securely, then check the idle speed again.

- Connect the accelerator linkage.

- Adjust the accelerator linkage.

4. Adjusting the maximum rotation speed.

a) Check for contact between the lever and the maximum speed adjusting screw when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed.

If this condition is not met, adjust the accelerator drive.

b) Start the engine,

c) Press the accelerator pedal all the way down.

d) Measure the maximum rotation speed.

Maximum speed (±100 rpm)

l series - 4900 rpm

kZ series - 4600 rpm

d) Adjusting the maximum rotation speed.

- Disconnect the accelerator linkage.

- Cut off the wire sealing the maximum speed adjustment screw.

- Using the special tool, loosen the lock nut of the maximum speed adjusting screw.

- Adjust the maximum speed with the adjusting screw.

Note: Adjust only at minimum idle speed. Bring the engine to maximum idle speed for no more than 5 seconds.

- Using the special tool, tighten the lock nut securely.

- Check the maximum speed again.

- Engage the accelerator lever.

- After adjusting the speed, adjust the accelerator lever transmission.

- Seal the maximum speed adjustment screw with a new wire seal kit.
