Note: In case of lack of engine power, excessive oil consumption or increased fuel consumption, check the pressure at the end of the compression stroke.
1. Warm up the engine, then stop it.
2. (2L-T) Remove the air filter.
3. Disconnect the fuel cutoff valve connector.
4. (Series L) Remove glow plugs.
5. (KZ series) Unscrew the nozzles.
Note: spark plugs installed on KZ engines are ceramic. It is not recommended to remove candles unless absolutely necessary.
6. Measure the pressure in the engine cylinders.
A) Install a compression gauge.
b) Turning the crankshaft with a starter, measure the pressure at the end of the compression stroke.
Note: The battery must be fully charged in order for the engine speed to be at least 250 rpm.
V) Repeat the previous steps for each cylinder.
Attention: these measurements must be carried out as soon as possible.
Pressure at the end of the compression stroke:
- 2L-T and KZ-T engines - at least 31.0 bar
- the rest - not less than 32.0 bar
Minimum pressure:
- not less than 20.0 bar
Difference between individual cylinders:
- no more than 5.0 bar
G) If one or more cylinders show low pressure, pour a small amount of engine oil into the cylinder through the glow plug hole, then retest for that cylinder. If the addition of oil increases end-stroke pressure, the piston rings and/or cylinder are worn or damaged.
If the pressure remains low, the valve may be sticking or not seated properly, and the gasket may leak.
7. Install glow plugs or injectors.
8. Connect the fuel cutoff valve connector.
9. (For 2L-T engines) Install the air filter.
