1. Check damper
A) Close the damper and lower the lever: the damper should smoothly return to the closed position
b) For type 1
Using a vacuum pump, create a vacuum on the lower actuator diaphragm: the damper should open halfway.
V) For type 1
Using a vacuum pump, create a vacuum on the upper actuator diaphragm: the damper should open completely.
G) For type 2
Using a vacuum pump, create a vacuum above the actuator diaphragm: the damper should open up to half of its full travel.
2. Check vacuum shutoff valves.
A. Checking the winding.
Measure the winding resistance between the valve terminals.
Resistance: - 37 -44 Ohm
If there is no continuity, replace the valve.
B. Check for a short to ground.
Measure the resistance between each valve terminal and valve body. In both cases, the resistance must be infinitely large.
B. Checking work.
A) Blow into the nozzle "E": air must come out of the nozzle "G"
b) Connect battery power to the valve terminals: air should now go into the filter.
