Removing the gears of the timing drive and injection pump
1. Remove accessory drive belts, fan and water pump pulley.
2. Remove the timing belt and gear wheels.
3. Turn out 7 bolts and remove a back cover of a timing belt.
4. Removing the vacuum pump.
A) Disconnect the vacuum hose.
b) Loosen the two nuts and remove the pump.
V) Remove the two rubber o-rings.
5. While holding the crankshaft pulley, remove the pulley mounting bolt.
Remove the pulley using a puller.
6. Removing the gear cover.
A) Remove the bolt and nut, remove the washer and vacuum hose.
b) Remove 13 bolts and two nuts securing the gear cover
V) Install a screwdriver in the place indicated in the figure, press the cover and remove it.
G) Remove the O-ring
7. Checking the axial clearance of the parasitic gear.
Install the indicator as shown in the figure and measure the end play.
Nominal clearance - 0.05 - 0.15 mm
Maximum clearance - 0.3 mm
If the clearance is greater than the maximum, replace the thrust washer. Replace gear or shaft if necessary.
8. Removing gears.
Note: Label the face of each gear.
When assembling and disassembling, do not damage the gear teeth.
A Crankshaft gear.
A) Secure the backlash compensation gear with the idle gear with the bolt.
1 - parasitic gear, 2 - clearance compensation gears, 3 - tightening bolt M6x1-28mm.
Note: When removing the idle gear, make sure the force of the gap compensation springs is blocked by the pinch bolt.
b) Using a puller, remove the crankshaft gear
B. Parasitic gear.
Remove the two bolts, thrust washer, idle gear assembly with clearance compensation gears, and idle gear shaft.
C. Injection pump drive gear.
A) While holding the gear, unscrew the fastening nut
b) Remove the rubber o-ring
V) Using a puller, remove the gear
Attention: screw the puller bolts to a depth of more than 8 mm.
9. Disassembly of the idle gear
A) Secure the parasitic and one of the compensation gears in a vise
b) While holding the second compensation gear, unscrew the tightening bolt M6x1-28
V) Remove the idle gear shaft retaining ring
G) Remove spring washer (1), backlash compensation gear (2), backlash compensation spring (3).
d) Re-clamp the idle gear, repeat the work according to p.p. V) and g) to complete the assembly.
