Disassembly, inspection and assembly
1. Remove the two needle bearings and spacer from the idler gear assembly.
2. Unscrew the three bolts and remove the oil deflector ring.

3. Using a micrometer, measure the thickness of the thrust washer. Replace the thrust washer if its thickness is less than the maximum.
Nominal value - 1.95-2.05 mm
Limit value - 1.65 mm
4. Clean the bolts and bolt holes from any remaining sealant. Apply sealant to the threads of the oil deflector ring mounting bolts.
Sealant: Part # 088330-00070, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent
5. Install the oil deflector ring and tighten the three mounting bolts.
Tightening torque - 7.8 Nm
6. Apply grease to the needle bearings. Install the two needle bearings and spacer into the idler gear assembly.
