1. Drain the oil from the transfer case.
2. Remove the front and rear driveshafts.
3. Removing the connecting flange of the output shaft.
A) Using a hammer and chisel, loosen the caulked part of the locknut.
b) While holding the flange with the special tool, remove the lock nut, then remove the washer and connecting flange.
4. Replacing the gland.
A) Using the special tool, remove the output shaft seal.
b) Using a mandrel and a hammer, press in a new oil seal.
V) Apply grease to the seal lip.
5. Installation of the connecting flange,
A) Install the connecting flange, washer and locknut. While holding the flange with the special tool, tighten the locknut.
Tightening torque - 127 N.m
b) Using a hammer and chisel, tap the locknut.
6. Install the front and rear driveshafts.
7. Fill transmission oil into the transfer case.
API oil class - GL-4 or GL-5
Recommended viscosity - SAE 90
