Checking and repair

1. Before disassembling and after assembly, measure the axial clearances of the high and low gears using a feeler gauge.

Permissible gap - 0.10-0.25 mm

Snap ring sizes:
  • mark "11" - 2.30-2.35 mm
  • mark "17" - 2.60-2.65 mm

2. Using a dial indicator, measure the radial clearances of the high and low gears with the needle bearing installed.

Permissible clearance - 0.019-0.068 mm

3. Checking the rear output shaft (when assembling a unit).

a) Check the output shaft for wear and damage.

b) Using a micrometer, check the outside diameters of the output shaft journals.

Acceptable values:
  • Neck "A" - 40.009 mm
  • Neck "B" - 40.009 mm

c) Mount the output shaft on the prisms.

d) Using a dial indicator, measure the runout of the output shaft.

Limit runout —— 0.03 mm

4. Checking the high-low gear shift clutch.

a) Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the clutch and the high-low gear shift fork.

Maximum clearance - 1.0 mm

b) Install the coupling on the rear output shaft and check the smooth rotation of the coupling.
