Note: before starting the test, warm up the automatic transmission fluid to a temperature of 70-80°C.
Range check "D"
Translate the selector to a range "D" and fully depress the accelerator pedal.
1. Check the presence of switches 1->2, 2->3 and 3->4 and the compliance of the switching points with the values given in the table "Switching points".
Note: Torque converter lock-up will not engage when the brake pedal is depressed and the coolant temperature is less than 50°C.
2. Check for jolts and slippage of the friction controls during shifts 1->2, 2->3 and 3->4.
3. When driving in third or fourth gear in the range "D" check for abnormal noise or vibration.
Attention: this check should be carried out very carefully, since the appearance of noise and vibration can be caused by an imbalance of the propeller shaft, differential, torque converter, etc.
4. Check for forced downshift operation (kick-down), 2—›1, 3—›2, 4->3 and the correspondence of the switching moments to the values given in the table "Switching points".
5. Make sure there is no jolt or slippage in the transmission controls when downshifting.
Checking the operation of the torque converter lock-up
1. When driving in overdrive at a steady speed, blocking should occur at the speed indicated in the table "Switching points".
2. Lightly press the accelerator pedal: the speed should not change sharply. If there is a sudden change, then there is no blockage.
Range check "2"
Move the selector to position "2", fully depress the accelerator pedal.
1. While driving in second gear range "2" release the accelerator pedal and check for engine braking.
2. Check the noise and vibration levels during upshifting and downshifting.
Range check "L"
1. When driving in range "L" there should not be any upshifts - the car should only move in first gear.
2. Load shedding (accelerator pedal release) engine braking should occur. If there is no engine braking, the first gear brake and reverse gear are faulty.
Range check "R"
Move the selector to position "R", fully depress the accelerator pedal. Check for slippage of the friction controls.
Range check "R"
Park the car on a slope (at least 5°), move the selector to position "R" and release the parking brake. The lock on the output shaft lock mechanism should hold the vehicle in place.

[] - For "Sirion".
Mode check "Manual gear shift"
With the vehicle moving at a speed of 60 km / h, check the gear changes and the corresponding indicator readings.
