Contents: Code #21 - Oxygen Sensor ↓ Fuel Injection System Error Code…↓
The use of the road test has the following objectives:
  • a) Reproduction (simulation) of driving modes in which this diagnostic code is detected.
  • b) Ensure that the repair work has been completed to the fullest extent, making sure that after its completion the diagnostic code does not appear.

Code #21 - Oxygen Sensor

Malfunction - damage to the oxygen sensor

Test modes (numbers in circles in the picture):

Code # 21.
1 - car speed.
2 - fixing the fault.
3 - the ignition switch is off,
4 - idle mode,
5 - time.

1. With the ignition off, disconnect the EFI fuse (15A) for 10 seconds or more. Put the system into test mode by short-circuiting the "TE2" and "E1" contacts of the diagnostic connector with the ignition off.

2. With all additional equipment turned off, start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

3. Let the engine idle for at least 3 minutes.

4. Start driving, gradually increase the engine speed to 1300-1700 rpm, and then hold it at about 1500 rpm with the air conditioner on and the automatic transmission selector in position "D" or in 5th gear for a manual transmission. Try not to let the speed drop below 1200 rpm when changing gears. Gradually press the accelerator pedal and hold it in this position to prevent engine braking.

5. Set the vehicle speed to between 64-80 km/h.

6. Maintain this mode for 2-3 minutes.

Note:
  • If a fault exists, the light panel "CHECK ENGINE" will light approximately 60 seconds after acceleration begins.
  • The fault will not be detected unless the test procedure is followed exactly.

Code #25 - Lean Air-Fuel Mixture

Note: Before performing this test, make sure that the oxygen sensor heater has power. Test Modes (numbers in circles in the picture):

Code # 25.
1 - engine crankshaft speed,
2 - fixing the fault,
3 - turn on the ignition switch,
4 - idle mode,
5 - time.

1. With the ignition off, disconnect the EFI fuse (15 A) for 10 s or more. Put the system into test mode by short-circuiting the "TE2" and "E1" contacts of the diagnostic connector with the ignition off.

2. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

3. Let the engine idle for about 3 minutes.

4. Quickly increase the engine speed to 4000 rpm by pressing the accelerator pedal. Repeat this three times.

5. Let the engine run at 2000 rpm for about 90 seconds.

Note: If a fault exists, the indicator light will flash in step 4 of the test.
