The engine has a circulating lubrication system. The oil pump is mounted on the crankshaft, behind the crankshaft pulley. The oil pump housing is also the front oil seal housing. Pumps on different engines have different designs. On the 1.6 L engine, the oil pump consists of two rotors, the inner rotor with several outer blades rotates inside the outer rotor, which has outer blades. The inner rotor is mounted on the crankshaft and is driven by the shaft. On the 2.0 L engine, a conventional centrifugal pump is installed. The inner rotor has a pump drive shaft, which is driven by a gear of the timing belt. When the inner rotor engages with the cutouts of the outer rotor, the oil flow changes and the pressure increases. The closing plate, fixed to the pump housing, turns the oil pump into a closed unit.
