- Brake fluid is poisonous. In no case do not suck it with your mouth through a hose. Keep liquid only in a vessel that no one will use for other purposes.
- Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with paintwork. In case of contact, rinse area with water.
- Brake fluid is hygroscopic, i.e. it absorbs water from the atmosphere. Therefore, keep brake fluid only in closed containers.
- Do not reuse used brake fluid. This also applies to the case of pumping the system.
- Brake fluid specification: FMVSS 116 DOT3 or DOT4 or SAEJ1703.
- Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with grease or mineral oils. Minor amounts of mineral oil make the brake fluid unfit for consumption or cause the brake system to fail.
- Change brake fluid every two years. Preferably after winter.
- Take used brake fluid to local collection points. It is not allowed to pour it into the sewer. Do not mix brake fluid with engine oil.
