Removing
Remove brake pads.
Remove the anthers with a screwdriver, being careful not to damage them.
Remove both pistons with boot.
Attention: Place a cloth to catch the escaping brake fluid. Take out the spring.
Remove the cuffs from the pistons, being careful not to damage the piston.
Wipe the inside of the cylinder with a rag. Risks or traces of corrosion on the working surface of the cylinder are not allowed. If present, replace the cylinder.
Clean all parts with alcohol or brake fluid.
Caution: Do not use liquids based on mineral oils, such as gasoline or kerosene, for this purpose. This can subsequently lead to defects in the operation of the brake system.
Installation
Check the operation of the air outlet. Replace if necessary.
If the cuffs are changed, they must be changed as a set.
Install the seals on the piston so that their sealing belts point in the direction opposite to the direction of fluid pressure.
Insert the left piston into the cylinder.
Insert the spring on the right, and then the right piston.
Extend the pistons on the left and right to the cuffs and lubricate around with grease (lithium grease).
Caution: Grease must not get into the brake fluid. Lubricate the pistons only up to the cuffs. It is recommended to use a special lubricant for this purpose, for example, ATE. This lubricant can be on the entire surface of the cylinder.
Put on dusters.
Install brake pads and drum.
Pump the system. In this case, as a rule, it is enough to pump the cylinder that was opened. However, if after this the pressure of the brake fluid is not stable, it is necessary to bleed the entire system.
Press the brake pedal vigorously several times. After that, the rear wheel brakes can be considered adjusted.
