Attention: For vehicles with a catalyst, the CO concentration is not regulated.
Test conditions: Check the exhaust system. To do this, close the end of the exhaust pipe with a rag. All pipe connections must be sealed.
Attention: Ensure good ventilation of the work area. There is a danger of poisoning.
Start and warm up the engine. The engine oil temperature must be at least 80°C.
Check idle speed.
Turn off all electrical consumers.
Attention: connect measuring instruments only with the ignition off.
Connect the tachometer according to the instructions.
Attach a CO concentration monitor to the end of the exhaust pipe.
Let the engine idle.
Set and maintain a speed of 2500 rpm for two minutes.
Maintain the idle speed for three minutes in order to stabilize the exhaust gas parameters.
Measure CO concentration. The concentration should be % by volume.
Vehicles with catalytic converter: The CO concentration is not regulated, if the CO concentration deviates from the set value, see the injection system fault diagnosis.
Vehicles without catalytic converter: Remove the plug from the mixture adjustment screw and adjust the CO concentration by turning the adjustment screw in the potentiometer. If the CO concentration does not change, refer to the injection system troubleshooting.
If the cause of the fault cannot be determined, contact a specialist workshop.
Disconnect the gauges with the ignition off.
