Removal and installation rear shock absorbers [Toyota Land Cruiser J100]

1. Support the front wheels with wheel chocks. Loosen the rear wheel nuts. Jack up the rear of the car and place it on supports. Remove the rear wheels.

2. Support the rear axle with a trolley jack. Remove the parking brake cable bracket from the rear axle housing.



3. Disconnect the lower end of the shock absorber from the support bracket on the rear axle assembly (refer to the accompanying illustration).



4. Loosen the nut securing the upper end of the shock absorber (refer to the accompanying illustration), access to the nut is extremely limited, so it will be easier to secure it with a key and rotate the shock absorber.

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Ensure that the installation components of the upper shock absorber support are seated correctly (refer to the accompanying illustration). Tighten all fasteners to the required torque.
