Front wheel hub. 1 - caliper assembly, 2 - oil seal, 3 - inner bearing, 4 • hub with brake disc, 5 - outer bearing, 6 - thrust washer, 7 - adjusting nut, 8 - lock washer, 9 - lock nut, 10 - gasket, 11 - freewheel housing, 12 - circlip, 13 - figured gasket, 14 - freewheel cover, 15 - conical washer, 16 - washer, 17 - contact ring, 18 - gasket, 19 - circlip, 20 - gasket, 21 - coupling cover, 22 - washer, 23 - conical washer.
Disassembly
1. Hang out the car and establish support racks under a frame.
2. Remove the front wheels of the car.
3. Disconnect the brake pipe, unscrew the two bolts and remove the caliper assembly.
4. Remove the freewheel (see related section).
5. Removing the hub assembly with the brake disc.
A) Loosen the lock washer with a screwdriver.
b) Using the special tool, remove the locknut.
V) Remove the lock washer.
G) Loosen the adjusting nut using the special tool.
d) Remove the wheel hub assembly with the brake disc.
Note: For models with automatic clutch lock, wrap tape around the tip of the steering knuckle shaft before removing the hub.
7. Removing the inner bearing and seal.
A) Using the special tool, remove the oil seal from the hub.
b) Remove the inner bearing from the wheel hub.
Check and repair
1. Clean bearings and inner races and check for wear or damage.
2. Replacing the outer ring of the bearing.
A) Using a brass rod and a hammer, knock out the bearing outer race.
b) Carefully install the new bearing outer race using a special drift.
3. Replacing the hub bolts.
A) Mark the wheel hub and brake disc.
b) Remove the six bolts and remove the brake disc from the wheel hub.
V) Install the nuts on the hub bolts.
G) Using an extension and a press, press out the hub bolts.
d) Using an extension and a press, press in new hub bolts.
e) Align the marks and install the brake disc on the wheel hub.
The tightening torque of the bolts is 64 Nm.
Assembly
1. Packing grease into bearings.
A) Take the lubricant in the palm of your hand.
b) Pack the bearing with this grease until grease seeps out.
V) Stuffing is carried out around the entire circumference of the bearing.
2. Apply grease to the inner surface of the hub.
3. Installing the inner bearing and seal.
A) Install the inner bearing into the hub.
b) Using a mandrel and a hammer, install the oil seal into the hub.
V) Apply grease to the seal.
4. Install the hub onto the wheel axle, then install the outer bearing and thrust washer.
5. Wheel bearing preload adjustment.
A) For models with automatic clutch lock: remove the tape from the knuckle shaft tip.
b) Using the special tool, tighten the bearing adjusting nut.
Tightening torque - 59 N.m
Warning: be careful not to damage the seal.
V) Turn the hub right and left two or three times.
G) Loosen the nut until it can be turned by hand.
d) Using the special tool, retighten the bearing adjusting nut.
Tightening torque - 59 N.m
e) Loosen the nut so that it can be turned by hand,
and) Retighten the adjusting nut using the special tool.
Tightening torque - 5.4 N.m
h) Using a spring dynamometer, measure the preload.
Preload - 27 - 56 N
6. Install the lock washer and locknut.
A) Install the lock washer and locknut.
b) Using the special tool, tighten the locknut.
Tightening torque - 64 N.m
V) Check for axial play in the bearing.
G) Using a spring dynamometer, measure the preload.
Preload - 27 - 56 N
d) If the preload is not correct, adjust it with the adjusting nut,
e) Secure the locknut by bending one of the tabs of the lock washer inward and the other tab out.
7. Install the freewheel.
8. Installing the brake caliper.
A) Connect the caliper to the steering knuckle. Tighten the mounting bolts.
Tightening torque - 123 N.m
6) Connect the brake pipe using the special tool.
Tightening torque - 15 N.m
9. Bleed the brake system.
