For crimping or for repairing the injector! should be given to a diesel engine workshop. Do not do this work yourself under any circumstances, since in addition to the need for a special tool, the injection pressure can cause injury if you hold your fingers near the injection cone. To determine a poorly functioning injector, successively unscrew the injection tubes from the injectors and start the engine. If the engine operation does not change after unscrewing the tube from a certain injector, this means that the operation of this injector is disrupted

To remove the injector:
  • Loosen both nuts securing the injection tubes to the intake manifold. Loosen both union nuts of each injection tube using a slotted open-end wrench. This wrench can be put on the nut if there is a tube. Otherwise, use a regular wrench. Loosen the fastening clamps and remove the tubes.
  • Disconnect the fuel hose from the oil drain pipe, unscrew the four nuts and remove the oil drain pipe (return pipe) and washers.
  • Unscrew the injectors with an extended wrench. At TOYOTA service stations, a special tool is used for this. Do not damage the injectors. Put the injectors in the order of removal if they are to be reinstalled.
  • The installation of the injectors is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account the following points:
  • Be sure to replace the sealing ring. The tightening torque of the injectors is 65 Nm. Do not exceed this tightening torque, as this may cause the injectors to bend or the injector needles to jam.
  • Place 4 washers on the injectors and connect the return pipe. Screw on 4 nuts and tighten to 30 Nm. Connect the hose to the return pipe.
  • Install the injection pipes. First, loosely fasten both clamps to the intake manifold and screw on the union nuts of all pipes. Tighten the union nuts. The tightening torque is 30 Nm, do not overtighten the nuts. Then fasten the pipes with both clamps and nuts.
  • Turn the engine crankshaft with the starter and sequentially loosen the union nuts on the injector side. This will release air. Tighten the union nuts again to 30 Nm.
  • The remaining work is carried out in reverse order.
